Civic Hall Improvements

Phase III

Our next project is almost complete! We have updated the sound equipment with modern systems that will allow a full range of music events to take place in the Hall. Please contact Catherine for more information about these exciting new developments.

Phase II

The second phase of improvements has now been completed. We have installed cinema and conference facilities to expand the range of events that can take place in the Hall. We now have unlimited broadband; a full size cinema screen; professional projection equipment; a dvd player; and lecterns, notice boards and other facilities for meetings and conferences.

All toilets have been fully refurbished and redecorated to bring them up to the standard of the newer areas of the Hall such as the kitchen and bar.

Phase I

A major refurbishment of the facilities at the Civic Hall was carried out in 2013.

Work completed included: redecoration of the lobbies and Mural Room; repairs to the balcony outside the Mural Room; cleaning of the Town Crest on the outside of the building; installation of double glazing in both lobbies; repairs to the leaking flat roof and replacement of the rotten window frames and new double glazing in the Mural Room. This has created a warm and bright meeting room for hire, with wonderful views to the south across the hills and fields in addition to helping prevent sound and warmth leaking from the hall. The wooden flooring in the main hall has been refurbished and the floor stripped and repolished which has revealed the lighter wood underneath creating a bright, airy feel to the hall.

A large, modern kitchen has been installed in the bar area, which is available to users either to hire on its own or with the rest of the Hall. Refurbishment of the bar area with new furniture and fittings has created a relaxing and friendly space.
