The Civic Hall is a great place to celebrate and hosts a wide range of events from weddings and birthday parties to talks, community suppers and live music. The main hall (62ft x 41ft x 20ft high) can seat 299 people. There is a bar, commercial kitchen, stage, lighting & rigging, sound system, projector & screen and radio microphones.
A ramp from the Market Square leads to the main hall and there is an accessible toilet near the entrance. However, the main toilets, bar and backstage area are all accessed via stairs.

Yoga Class 9.30am - 10.30am
An exciting new weekly yoga class starting on Tuesday 9th October. The class is a flow class
and is run by Natalie Austin from Love Yoga Tree. The class will help
students develop their practice over time, building strength and stamina,
incorporating stretching and toning, encouraging mindfulness, mental clarity
and calm. The class drop in price is £8 and a class package deal is

Jamming Station 4.30pm - 9.30pm
Music sessions and workshops for young people and adults, where there is ample space to rehearse, break away into smaller groups, run workshops and make a big sound! Chinese Martial Arts 6.30pm to 8.00pm
Hu Long Temple School of Chinese Martial Arts and Wellbeing
are running a traditional Northern Shaolin Kung Fu and Sanda (Chinese
Kickboxing) class, teaching practical self-defence, Fantastic for improving
physical and mental health, mindfulness, flexibility, coordination,
balance, self-confidence and strength. The class is open to
all ages and abilities, no previous experience required.
The Council holds down charges to maximise community use. Hirers are invoiced for each element of their booking, so that they only pay for what they actually use. There are reduced rates for charitable and not-for-profit organisations. Please refer to our Booking Form for more information.
