Totnes Town Council has a vacancy for a part time Administrator as part of a job share arrangement. Hours are 13 hours per week over 2 days, Monday & Tuesday, 9.30am – 4.30pm (with ½ hr lunch) but some flexibility over start and finish times may be required. Additional hours may be necessary including some evenings and weekends, as required by the activities of the Town Council. The job will be based in a town centre location.

The role involve providing a polite and helpful reception service for the Town Council as well as general office administrative support as required and therefore a positive and willing attitude is essential. The postholder will also take responsibility for the cemetery administration, the Council’s website and social media, and assist their line manager with a variety of administrative duties. An ability to take and follow instruction well is important and to be able to deal sensitively with the public at times of bereavement. The role will also involve assisting with community and civic events which could involve occasional weekend work, and provide cover for other Administrator in the team when necessary. The postholder will be required to undertake training and act as a First Aider for the Council.
